A day at the CNE

Today I started my day at the Direct Energy Centre.  There were many vendors with lots of beautiful things to buy.  As the building has just opened at 10 am, it was relatively quiet.

After lunch at the Food Building we went into the Horse Palace to visit CNE Horseplay; the times for this show are 12:30 to 3:30 pm every day.  I saw a horse being weighed.  WOW he was one big horse weighing in over 1700 pounds I believe.  There were free pony rides in the arena. As well, they had free wagon rides.  I spoke to Amber who was one of the girls working here. She told me a big hit there was feeding and grooming the horses.  They have lots of information booths about the horses that you can visit.

At the end of our day we took a chance on some of the games.  I left with three small stuffed animals from various games in the midway and two prizes from the BINGO.  One of the prizes I chose from BINGO was a battery free radio/flashlight, which could come in handy.  The other prize was a Luminated Ocean Lamp.  The BINGO had many prizes there for men, women and children.  The cost for the bingo was $2 per game.

There is just so much to see and so much to do…

About Denise

Denise was very excited to be a blogger for the CNE this year. She is looking forward to sharing her experiences at the exhibition with everyone. Originally from Toronto, it was a yearly summer end treat each year. Still to this day the CNE has a magical effect. The dazzling lights of the rides at night. The different smells from the vendors selling everyone's favorite treats. The people working the midway calling people in to take a chance – try this game. The sites of small children with evidence of candy floss left on their faces as their eyes glisten with pleasure. Every time Denise goes to the exhibition she finds something new and exciting. No visit to the CNE is ever the same. There is something there for everyone. There is just so much to see and so much to do – she really doesn't think it can be experienced in one day. Two of her favorite activities are the Horse Building and the Food Building.
