What’s this category all about?

Being involved in the planning of the CNE is both rewarding and exciting.  It’s such an important Toronto tradition and also happens to be Canada’s largest annual fair.

An event the size and scope of The Ex takes all year to put together and we work hard during the 18 days to make sure everything goes according to plan, or at least as close to the plan as possible.  At the end of it all, once the rides are moved out, the Food Building is closed up for the year and everything at Exhibition Place returns to normal, we all have plenty of stories to tell.

I asked the CNE team if they had any experiences they wanted to share and this is what they had to say…

About Joanne

When Joanne tells people this is her 21st CNE, they always ask if she started at age 2 since she looks so young, but it’s true, her first CNE was in 1988! She looks after advance ticket sales for the fair and coordinates many of the CNE’s online initiatives. Her favourite CNE activity is riding around on her golf cart and seeing visitors having fun, but looks forward to her one ride on the Polar Express each year.

Ya but what happened to all the hoopla at the gate and the sponsers that led the way to success back in the sixties and seventies…could it be greed or they don’t care enough to discount their products anymore?? The food building was nuts in price and missing quite a few major companies that were there for years….what happened??? What a shame…
